Climate change

The fact that the climate is changing quickly, we can observe close to home.



  On May 1th 2007 over 25 degrees...

Take a look at the page climatechange,  to see the impact on our campsite.
Therefor we are convinced of the importance to work carbonneutral.
Climate neutral producing products and services is sometimes seen as a fad.
But is that true?


Climate neutral
What is producing climate neutral actually?
And how do you achieve that?
In fact: it's taking your responsability for your behaviour considering energy.
It's to be done in 4 steps:
1. Energysaving, for instance using energysaving light bulbs; buying economical washingmachine, refrigerator and freezer; rainwater capturing for the toilets.
2. Selfmaking energy, like solar collectors for hot water, solar panels or a  (small windmill for electricity.
3. Energy you still need, purchase it "green". for example Greenchoice ; green power and green gas.
4. If you have done the most possible, there is still compensation by planting trees. This has really effect if you have certainty that the forset stays long-term about 100 years. A company like als Ecodirect can offer this guarantee

What we oppose against climate change, you can jread it on the pages environment , certificates en CSR .

Arrangement 4 climateneutral campsites
In Drenthe there are 5 campsites which are certificated for camping climateneutral.
They have achieved that through energy conservation and generation (solarpanels, windmills), purchasing green power and gas and compensation CO2.
For the holidaymaker it means that a night camping, including the use of showers, recreationroom or  any facilities however, hasn't got any effect on the greenhouse.
So the holiday there will not have  influence on the climate change.

Often transport is a bottleneck. Travelling with luggage and certainly with young children is almost only possibleby own car.
These campingkeepers also want to do something about that.
We offer an arrangement :
If one is coming by bike visiting one of the several climateneutral campsites in Drenthe, they will take care of the transport of the luggage.
The arrangement contains a cyclingmap.the routes are expelled through Google maps.
The participating campsites are:
Camping De Boemerang in Meppen
Minicamping Schonewille in Geesbrug
Camping De Olde Bargen in Dwingeloo
Camping en Galerie Thyencamp in Laaghalerveen




Week of the Progress

Guests who visit camping Thyencamp by bicycle or public transport are charged in the Week of the Progress for half the normal standard..
People coming by train can be collected from the railwaystation (our car is climate neutral as well) . Rented bikes can also be arranged by us.
An example:
A cyclist with a hikers tent pays normally (€ 3,- + € 3,50 =) € 6,50,but between 16 and 27 of september just € 3,25 (plus tourist  tax en environment tax).

We are also participating in the project climateneutral recreation of ECEAT .
We have been asked to think about upgraden  Greenkey , for example up to  CSR .
The target is working within 2 years 50% of thepartners of ECEAT climateneutral.
This means a further 100 companies where people without concern for the environment can spend there holidays.
