Sterappel

The sterappel stands in the old rare plants, but also in 'de Goorn' (vegetable garden).
It is a very vulnerable tree with branches that break off easily.
The fruits are of good taste, but only a short time (approx. 3 weeks) tenable.
This is probably the best-known old hand Apple, it's originally from the neighbourhood of Maastricht.
After ripening very nice  dark red fruits with white lenticels, which gives the apple the appearance of a fruit with little stars.
Also at intersect in the width forms the drawing of a beautiful red star. The fruit can exclusively be grown on tall standard and tree is not early fertile.
